The society holds its Annual Function wherein students who score more than 85% marks in their board examinations of class X and class XII are given special cash awards besides a memento and a certificate of merit. This is in addition to the normal financial help given to them in the form of fees, books and other educational needs.
After doing CBSE +2 from Govt. School, Sector 19 Chandigarh with distinction, she stood first in B.Com III scoring 88% marks. Then she completed her ICWA and is now working in the Finance department of Hindustan Lever.

The Society for Meritorious Students was established in 2002 with the aim of providing assistance to needy and meritorious students. This concept evolved while helping disabled people who due to financial constraints were not in a position to educate and develop their children, who might well be exceptionally brilliant. The students once adopted by the society will continue to be looked after till they have finished their education and are placed in a job.
