The society holds its Annual Function wherein students who score more than 85% marks in their board examinations of class X and class XII are given special cash awards besides a memento and a certificate of merit. This is in addition to the normal financial help given to them in the form of fees, books and other educational needs.
A student from Shri Guru Gobind School, Sector-26, Chandigarh, where he completed his XII with 95% marks, has been with the society from Class X. Now in his 4th semester of B.Tech at IIT, Mumbai.
More Success StoriesThe Society for Meritorious Students was established in 2002 with the aim of providing assistance to needy and meritorious students. This concept evolved while helping disabled people who due to financial constraints were not in a position to educate and develop their children, who might well be exceptionally brilliant. The students once adopted by the society will continue to be looked after till they have finished their education and are placed in a job.
